Walk in the Way Jesus Opened

Hebrews 10:19-22

“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh.”

Walk in the Way Jesus Opened

Many believers know that Jesus forgives sin, yet still carry the weight of old failures as though forgiveness has not reached every part of the heart. A memory returns, a past decision is replayed, or an old habit resurfaces. Then the accusing voice begins to say that nothing has changed and that we are still unworthy.

Hebrews 10 speaks directly into that struggle. It tells us that we have boldness to enter God’s presence by the blood of Jesus. Our access to God is not built on a flawless record, emotional strength, or spiritual performance. It is built on Christ’s sacrifice. Jesus opened a new and living way, and He serves as our great High Priest.

We do not have to stay outside in fear. We do not have to hide in shame. We do not have to assume that one failure has removed us from the reach of God’s grace. Jesus has made the way, paid the price, and opened the door.

“You must stop letting the accuser convince you that you are what you have been delivered from.”

The enemy wants us to define ourselves by what God has forgiven. But the gospel tells a different story. We are not the worst thing we have done. In Christ, we are people who have been cleansed, welcomed, and called to draw near.

This does not make sin unimportant. God’s grace also transforms us. The blood of Jesus cleanses the conscience, and the Word of God continues to wash our daily walk. The Lord lovingly reshapes our habits, attitudes, speech, and relationships so that our outward lives increasingly reflect the new life He has given.

When we stumble, we do not need to run from God. We can run to Him. A temporary stumble is not an identity crisis. We confess, receive His forgiveness, return to His Word, and continue walking in the way Jesus opened.

Reflection Questions

  • What past failure, label, or memory has been trying to define your identity?
  • How does knowing that Jesus opened a new and living way change the way you approach God today?
  • What daily habit or attitude needs to be washed and realigned by God’s Word this week?

Application

When guilt or shame resurfaces, pause and remind yourself that Jesus has opened access to God through His blood. Read Hebrews 10:19-22, pray honestly, and choose one practical act of obedience that reflects your new life in Christ.

Closing Prayer

Father, thank You for opening a new and living way through Jesus Christ. Help me reject every accusing lie and rest in the cleansing power of His blood. Wash my heart and guide my daily walk through Your Word. Teach me to draw near to You with confidence and to live as one transformed by Your grace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
