I Speak the Truth
🎥 This Week’s Sermon Moment
Reject Spiritual Amnesia and Speak Truth
Timestamp: 1:31:32 – 1:32:38
When the enemy tries to silence you, you look him dead in the eye and say, “I speak the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.”
Dr. Jones closes the sermon by calling believers to reject spiritual amnesia, anchor their minds in God’s Word, live confidently through Christ, and speak truth, life, and hope into a dying world.
Scripture Focus
2 Peter 1:12-21
“No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.” — 2 Peter 1:21
I Speak the Truth
Dr. Ernest Jones continues the series Guarding the Truth and Growing in Grace by calling believers to stand on the unchanging truth of God’s Word. In a world filled with shifting opinions, false claims, and competing voices, followers of Jesus are not left without a foundation.
Peter wrote to believers who already knew the truth, yet he continued to remind them. The sermon identifies this need as spiritual amnesia: the tendency to know God’s truth while forgetting to live by it when pressure comes. Scripture, fellowship, and worship help keep the gospel fresh in our hearts.
Remember the Truth
God’s goodness, forgiveness, and saving power must not become distant memories. Believers need regular reminders of the gospel and intentional time in God’s Word. The light of Christ within us is not meant to go out when life becomes difficult.
Speak From Experience
Peter could speak with confidence because he had seen the majesty of Christ and heard the Father’s voice. The gospel is not a clever story. Jesus lived, died, rose again, and is coming again. Every believer who has encountered Christ’s saving and transforming grace has a testimony that points others to Him.
Speak With Biblical Authority
Personal testimony matters, but Scripture remains the final authority. The prophets spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. When believers declare what God has said, they are not sharing mere opinion. They are speaking truth that carries the authority of God’s Word.
