Already Equipped

🎥 This Week’s Sermon Moment

Your Youth Is Your Platform

Timestamp: 01:44:09 – 01:45:32

I declare over you, you are equipped… your youth is not a disadvantage. It is your platform. God never needs you to be older. He only needs you to be willing.

Dr. Jones speaks a powerful declaration over the youth, affirming that they are already equipped, important, and examples for such a time as this.

Main Scripture: 1 Timothy 4:12

“Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.”

Already Equipped

On Youth Recognition Sunday, we paused to celebrate the accomplishments of our children, youth, and young adults. But more importantly, we declared a spiritual truth over their lives: they are already equipped.

Paul’s words to Timothy remind us that youth is not a limitation in the Kingdom of God. Timothy was young and tasked with leading in a setting filled with older, experienced believers. Yet Paul did not tell him to wait until he was older. He told him not to allow anyone to think less of him because of his age.

You Are Important

Our young people are not just the future of the church; they are part of its present. Scripture shows us again and again that God uses young people—Joseph, David, Esther, Daniel, and even Mary—to accomplish His purposes.

God does not have a junior varsity team. The same Holy Spirit who dwells in adult believers dwells in young believers. Age does not determine anointing.

You Are an Example

Paul instructs Timothy to be an example in five specific ways:

  • Speech – Words carry power. Speak life and truth.
  • Conduct – Let your actions align with your faith.
  • Love – Reflect the compassion and grace of Christ.
  • Faith – Trust God even when the outcome is uncertain.
  • Purity – Honor God with your heart, mind, and body.

Being an example is not about proving critics wrong. It is about living before an audience of One—God.

A Launching Pad for Faith

Ecclesiastes 12:1 reminds us to remember our Creator in the days of our youth. Youth is not a waiting period for faith; it is a launching pad. You do not need permission to live boldly for Christ. You are already equipped.

“God never needs you to be older. He only needs you to be willing.”

Walk in what God has already placed inside of you. You are important. You are an example. You are already equipped.
