I Am Persuaded
🎥 This Week’s Sermon Moment
Do Not Ask for Another Sign
Timestamp: 01:06:31 – 01:07:38
Do not ask for another sign while rejecting the savior. Come on to Jesus. Trust his word. Receive his life. Be persuaded today.
Dr. Jones calls listeners to examine whether they are resisting what God has already shown them through Scripture. He urges them not to seek another sign while rejecting Jesus, but to trust His Word and receive His life.
I Am Persuaded
Scripture Focus: Luke 16:19-31
In Luke 16, Jesus tells of a rich man and Lazarus. One lived in luxury while the other suffered at his gate. When both men died, their circumstances changed eternally. This passage is not merely about wealth and poverty; it confronts the condition of the heart and the urgency of responding to God’s Word.
What We Do Now Matters Forever
The rich man had opportunity after opportunity to show mercy, but his heart remained hardened. The sermon reminds us that earthly comfort, possessions, and status does not guarantee eternal life. We must not live as though there will always be more time to seek God, repent, or obey His call.
“God has already spoken. He has given us his word and his word is enough.”
The Sufficiency of Scripture
When the rich man asked for Lazarus to warn his brothers, Abraham answered that they already had Moses and the prophets. Today, we have the testimony of Scripture, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the witness of His death and resurrection. God’s Word tells us who God is, what sin is, and how salvation comes.
Miracles do not replace Scripture. Faith comes by hearing the Word concerning Christ. Rather than chasing signs, we are called to open God’s Word, hear the gospel, and respond in faith.
Do Not Harden Your Heart
The issue is not a lack of evidence; the issue is the heart. Jesus rose from the dead, yet some still refuse to believe. The question for each of us is whether we are resisting what God has already shown us through His Word.
- Do not put God off.
- Do not ignore the sufficient Word God has given.
- Do not harden your heart when Jesus is calling.
- Do not wait for another sign while rejecting the Savior.
Come to Jesus Today
This message is rooted in the love of Christ. Jesus died for us while we were sinners, and His arms remain open to receive all who come to Him. Trust His Word. Receive His life. Be persuaded today.
“The same Jesus who warned us is the same Jesus who welcomes us.”
